ESTIMATES 2009 / 2010

RATES AND TARIFF INCREASES

Notice is hereby given, in terms of Section 22(a)(ii) of the Municipal Finance Management Act No 56 of 2003, that :

1. The estimates of revenue and general expenditure for the year 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010 are available for inspection at the Municipal Offices, Town Hall, Adelaide and Town Hall, Bedford during normal office hours.

2. a general rate of 0,0095 cents in the Rand on all rateable property in the Administrative Units of Adelaide and Bedford will be levied for the financial year ending on 30 June 2010 and that the rates are due and payable on 1 July 2009.

Interest at the standard rate will be levied on rates paid annually and on rates outstanding as at 30 September 2009. In cases where rates are paid in monthly instalments, interest will be levied as from 1 July 2009 at the standard rate, on instalments that are outstanding on the fifteenth (15th) of the succeeding month.

3. With effect from 1 July 2009, the existing service charges and sundry services will be increased by 10%, except for electricity that will be increased by 25%.

Motivated objections, if any, to the increased tariffs for services must be lodged in writing to the Municipal Manager by Friday, 17 June 2009 at 12:00.
